Gatsby Book Covers

Overview
Midway through my Graphic Design III course, I was tasked with redesigning a book cover. I chose The Great Gatsby because it’s one of my favorite novels I read in high school. 

Objective
My goal was to come up with two alternative book cover concepts that exemplify contemporary design philosophies. Instead of retreading on the eyes from the actual cover, I chose to explore visuals of a green light that appears in the story. I’ve always felt that this green light was more important to the central themes of the story and figured this assignment was an excellent opportunity to bring it to life!
Target Audience
Teenagers between the ages of 14 – 18.
