Posters are one of my favorite mediums because they’re the bridge between art and design. I love that they provide the opportunity to create unexpected visual solutions by disrupting conventional meaning. This collection of posters is meant to instill a sense of discomfort. It’s up to the viewer to form their interpretation as their eyes scan the cryptic messages strewn throughout each composition.

These pieces were created in Fall 2023 for my Design Factory course at Montserrat. 

We were initially tasked with designing posters that encapsulate aspects of Beverly’s history. In my case, I was assigned the oldest property in the city, the Balch House. I remember taking a particular interest in the house's architecture during my research. This led me to build an abstract composition inspired by the structure’s facade. 

My professor then decided to let us design posters from a satirical perspective after the first round of posters were completed. I immediately set my sights on Beverly’s lack of accessible parking, which affected me daily as a commuting student. My frustrations with this issue fueled the creation of “No Parking”.

These pieces would later be featured in an exhibition titled 42°33’01”N 70°52’34”W on the second floor of the Hardie Building.

Horror/Monster Film Posters

In addition to my original works shown above, I also design posters for my favorite horror/monster movies. Making these pieces is my way of giving back to the franchises that inspired me to create when I was younger. Though some of the posters look similar, I wasn’t super concerned with adhering to a set style. My only goal was to appeal to like-minded horror fans aged 18 to 24. I’ve accumulated a bunch of these over the years, and I even had the privilege of getting some of them signed by actors at local conventions!
